How long does the process take?
That depends on volume of clients waiting on quotes. The goal is to turn around a quote in 24-72 hours. Once a quote is approved by the client, filing can be done same-day with just a few more steps.
How much does filing cost?
Each filing is different, based on what forms must be included in the return. With quotes being 100% free, no action will be taken until fees are proposed and agreed upon by client & preparer.
How do we communicate?
Due to a hearing disability on the preparers part, communication will be primarily be via email, with the possibility of text messages for simple questions or concerns.
How do we get started?
Contact Tommy Morton at tommy@taxdaddy.net. All clients are expected to read the Engagement Letter on the left tab. Then, Tommy will send some interview questions and ask for wage documents and other information.
What about my privacy?
Emails are encrypted and antivirus & other programs are run daily. All communication is erased/destroyed after use. If uncomfortable sharing sensitive data, a one-time phone call or FaceTime/Zoom call can be organized.
How do I pay for services?
There are multiple ways to pay fees. Methods of payment that are accepted include cash, credit card, and use of third party apps, such as Zelle, Venmo, or Cashapp.
Do I get a copy of my return?
Upon payment of fees and permission granted to file the return, the preparer will email the client a password-protected email copy of their return. In the future, one free copy of the return can be sent at a later date, fees will be charged for returns sent more than once.
Do you offer Audit Protection?
All returns are submitted with Audit Protection attached. In the extremely unlikely event of an IRS audit, the client will receive representation & assistance from an audit professional.
Can I pay at a later date?
No, returns will not be transmitted until fees are paid up front, or the decision is made by the client to pay fees out of the refund, if one is given by the IRS.
What happens if the IRS changes my refund?
If it is agreed upon that fees will be paid out of the refund, and then the IRS reduces the refund amount to a figure LESS THAN the fees owed, the client will owe the entirety of the fees immediately upon discovery.
I can’t get through to the IRS. What can I do?
The IRS is very busy during tax time. There is no “secret line” that preparers can call to get through to a live person. We struggle getting through to them, as well. Stay patient, keep trying, and call early in the morning (7 am), when lines first open up.
What if I have questions throughout the year?
I am always available to my clients. It may take 48-72 hours to get back to you, depending on what I am doing, but I am very loyal to people who file with me. Those who do not file with me, however, I am unable to provide adequate counseling, as it would be a conflict of interest.
